PrintNothing says home cooking like BBQ meatballs! They are simple, yet hearty, and the from scratch sauce adds the perfect notes of sweet, tangy, and savory to the dish.
3/4 c. Ketchup.
1/4 c. Brown sugar.
1 Tbsp. Liquid Smoke.
1 tsp. Onion Powder.
1/4 tsp. each Salt & Pepper.
1 lb. Ground Beef.
3/4 c. Saltine Crackers, crushed.
1/2 sm. Onion, (about 1/2 cup) finely chopped.
1 Egg.
1/4 c. Milk.
1 tsp. Salt.
1/2 tsp. Pepper.
Measure all sauce ingredients into a small bowl.
Mix with a fork or a whisk until all ingredients are blended together and there are no lumps of brown sugar left. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, mix all meatball ingredients together until well combined.
Shape into 9, equal sized balls and put them in a 9x9 square pan (or comparably sized pan).
Spoon the BBQ sauce evenly over the top of the meatballs.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cover with foil.
Bake for about 45 minutes.
