Hi, I'm Jen. I am a wife, the mother of 3 lively little children, and the creator behind The Graceful Dame.
My husband and I grew up in the Mennonite community located in the heart of Pennsylvania's Amish country. A few years ago, we said goodbye the scenic farmland we called home, packed up all our belongings, and moved all the way across the country to live in the sweltering Sonoran Desert in Chandler, AZ.
Ever since I was old enough to read and follow a recipe, I have loved experimenting with flavors and cuisines. My dear mother diligently taught me how to craft the traditional, Amish and Mennonite dishes, just as my grandmother had taught her. Now, as a mother, I love recreating all that yumminess for my own family, as well as expanding their palates with family-friendly recipes from other cultures and parts of the world.

I've recently stepped back from creating recipes to have baby #3 and create a company, The Modern Sonoran. Our brand has been growing rapidly and, right now, I am figuring out how to scale our brand effectively. As soon I get this worked out, I plan to come back to blogging stronger than ever! I love sharing good, homestyle recipes with you all and I look forward to expanding my available recipes & maybe even branch into other topics, as well.
